UFO - Epiosode 01 - "Identified" - Gerry & Sylvia Anderson (1970)

Welcome to another Wacked Out Wednesday down in The Dungeon!

Tonight's feature is the first episode of the 1970 TV show called "UFO," created by, directed and produced by Gerry and Sylvia Anderson! Sylvia is also responsible for the Century 21 Fashions! It would be easier to just list all the things they didn't do!

Tricky title for the first episode!

I'm starting to see a pattern!

It's 10 years in the future, 1980, and this is the headquarters of S.H.A.D.O., some 400 feet below an unsuspecting movie studio!

Translucent Mondrian Eye Candy Corridors!

This dude goes tooling by in this little cart just so you can see how cool the future is going to be!

Hey! That's not 1980, that's more like a 1963 Avanti!

The Moonbase!

Looks like the Cosmo version of "Star Trek!"

Back to back scenes, one gal get dressed, and one gets undressed!
That's how the Andersons work it!

So really? What more do you want from life?
This looks like a good time to tell you that the music for "UFO" was created by the Anderson go-to-guy, the phenomenal Barry Gray! Barry created the music for I think every Anderson production including "Supercar," "Fireball XL5," "Stingray," "Thunderbirds," etc.
Here's the theme from "UFO," enjoy!

"So, Mel, how do you like my new screensaver?"

Aaaah! Sensuous!

Who knew that in the past we would have been so advanced! Looking back 36 years looks just the opposite!

What looks like a cell phone and some gal taking a selfie is actually just a sophisticated makeup case!

These guys keep calling U F O's youfos, like mofos! Sounds weird!

Some of the Anderson designs are very odd!

The alien flying saucer goes down for the count!

Future vending machines! Right on!

They were expecting a lot of short people in the future I guess! I can imagine sitting in one of those little egg chairs and not being able to get back out!

You can find an astounding amount of the Anderson's work on the Internet Archive for free! Just do a little search for Gerry or Sylvia Anderson and find out for yourself, or you can just click here!
You can thank Lord Litter for the link!

EEGAH!! & TABONGA! AT THE MOVIES 8 / The Early Sixties

I've felt like I'm a Twilight Zone episode lately, so, it's no wonder that I just sold my portable disc drive to Eegah!! and the disc drive on my sound computer went kaput yesterday. Good news is that I bought one on Amazon last night. Hopefully I'll be back in business on Friday... In the meantime, here's our 8th installment of Eegah!! and Tabonga! at the movies!

This title card has to be one of the best looking ones from the sixties... Wow!!

THE BRIDES OF DRACULA made us happy campers, Hammer kicked ass with their take on all the classic monsters. Throw in a pile of sexy vampire girls and you gots a wiener!!

We loved Hammer Sci-Fi too, VILLAGE OF THE DAMNED delivered the goods for us. Those glowing eyes looked so cool before they turned human brains into mush!

THE MONSTER OF PIEDRAS BLANCAS was trying to compete with Universal's Creature, but, you can see when lit wrong, the monster looks more goofy than frightening. It was an okay flick for us because it had a freakin' rubber monster...

The artwork for WEREWOLF IN A GIRL'S DORMITORY was top notch, there's mucho eye appeal.

And, cute school girls always look great in any motif!..

We loved TERROR FROM THE YEAR 5000, it had such cool hardware and one wild looking mutant. Even though it was made in 1958, they shelved it until 1961, I think we saw it with INVASION OF THE STAR CREATURES. Check in again on Wednesday for our last March post.

DR. DEVIL AND MR. HARE - Mel Blanc - Bill Lava (1964)

This is as close as I could find to an Easter movie! At least there's a bunny in it!
Welcome to another Saturday Night Special in The Dungeon!

Tonight's short feature is from 1964, and titled
The featured characters are Bugs Bunny, and Taz, The Tasmanian Devil!
All the voices are by the brilliant Mel Blanc, who probably has the most credits of anyone anywhere with 1,142, and any music you hear is by the molten Bill Lava!
Bill only had 521 composing credits to his name when he passed away back in 1971!

Despite having only seven cartoon appearances between 1954 and 1964, Taz has built up a rabid following over the years that has extended his career well into the 2000's!

Bugs is just trying to enjoy a nice relaxing bubble bath.....

.........When Taz blows into the scene!!

Some condiments might make this Easter dish even a little tastier!

After Bugs flips out screaming for a doctor acting like that ketchup was blood, Taz goes running off to the Doctor. Bugs shows up as the Doctor and tells Taz that he's just in time for his annual checkup!
Dr. Devil (Bugs Bunny) tells Taz that he is in bad shape and to look into the mirror to see for himself!
What a Picasso!!

The fluoroscope shows that Taz's hormones are fighting with his capillaries!

The A's are getting into his bloodstream as fast as the B's!

Dr. Devil gives Taz some nitro glycerin and shakes him up good!

I love this shot of  the whirling dervish Taz digging out!

Bugs stuffs Taz into a mailbox and he gets sent around the world!

Here's another great shot of Taz in high gear!

Bugs does his best impersonation of Groucho Marx!

In the maternity ward of the hospital Dr. Devil creates a Frankenstein monster with Taz's help, and the monster proceeds to beat the crap out of both of them!

The first appearance of the Tasmanian Devil was in a June 19, 1954 cartoon titled "Devil May Care!" In the 90's and beyond there was a big 9 year feud between the government of Tasmania and Warner Brothers as to who owned his rights! It's probably still not finally settled!
Who'd a thunk?

AAARRGGHHH!!!! Ya'll Come On Back Now, Y'Hear??
